The Heritage Fiesta 2024, held by the Commissioner for Heritage’s Office (CHO) of the Development Bureau from October to November 2024, features 11 declared monuments and graded historic buildings reflecting Hong Kong’s prominent role as an East-meets-West cultural hub. A related roving exhibition will be held from October 2024 to January 2025.
The participating historic buildings include “Bethanie Campus, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts” (The Bethanie), “Christ the King Chapel” (St. Paul’s Convent), “First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hong Kong”, “Former French Mission Building”, “Fringe Club (South Block, Old Dairy Farm Depot)”, “Hindu Temple” in Happy Valley, “HKRep Education Hub” (Ex-Portuguese Community School (Escola Camões)), “Jamia Mosque”, “Main Building, St. Stephen's Girls' College”, “Nos. 88 & 90 Staunton Street” and “Ohel Leah Synagogue”.
All participating historic buildings will provide free guided tours during the period of Heritage Fiesta from 1 October to 30 November. Members of the public can also visit these historic buildings* at their specific opening hours and time during the event period. In addition, on the first day of the event (1 October), free workshops and free community music performance will be held at some of the participating historic buildings. Members of the public are invited to register online for the above activities (walk-in admission for community music performance). For details, please refer to the event booklet. To complement the event, a series of public lectures featuring the participating historic buildings will be held by the Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui. Members of the public can collect stamp print featuring façade of each participating historic building during the guided tours, or by visiting the corresponding building* at its specific opening dates and time. The full set of stamp prints can also be collected at the roving exhibition venues (including Event Hall, UG/F, Citywalk 2 in Tsuen Wan, Covered Piazza of Times Square in Causeway Bay, and Lobby on 1/F of Immigration Tower in Wan Chai).
